Kate "KT" Tunstall (born 23 June 1975) is a Scottish singer-songwriter from St Andrews, Fife.

Tunstall was born in Edinburgh; her father is a physicist and her mother is a school teacher. She has an older brother named Jo and a younger brother named Daniel, who has a hearing impairment; the Tunstalls brought up their children in a home without a television or stereo, as the devices interfered with Daniel's hearing aid. In her twenties, Tunstall met her natural mother, who told her
