He is best known for his portrayal of Matthew Crawley on ITV's Downton Abbey. He is currently appearing on Broadway in The Heiress.. Dan Stevens has worked extensively in theatre in Britain and the United States, alongside Peter Hall. He was nominated for Ian Charleson Award for his portrayal of Orlando in Shakespeare's As You LIke It for the Peter Hall Company in 2005. Stevens is married to South African jazz vocalist-turned-singing teacher Susie Hariet. They met in 2006, when appearing at different theatres in Sheffield, England. MauiKane Posted March 1, 2013 Author Share Posted March 1, 2013 YES! I sat in row 6 aisle, right orchestra. Dan has an ethereal beauty; almost too blinding to behold! Perhaps I'm exaggerating but this man is gorgeous. The problem is his was a supporting role, so he did not spend that much time on stage (at least not as much as I had hoped.) His acting was fine, but I kept thinking of him as Matthew Crawley instead of Morris Townsend in "The Heiress." Still...it was definitely worth it!
