I am glad it was corrected bc considering the nominated movies there was no way La La Land was Best Pict. If it was you know it was rigged.

You see how Warren threw Faye under the bus???

Well, I haven't seen it so I can't say anything. I haven't seen Moonlight either... Or pretty much any of this year's nominees for anything actually :ninja:

Yes!! :rofl: :rofl::rofl:

I dont think it was accidental :ninja:

Do you really think that? At this point with all the ridiculousness and BS I wouldn't be surprised.

Kimmel said there was suppose to be one more joke involving Damon (he was allegedly backstage ready for it) but bc of the mix up there wasn't enough time. I am a bit skeptical bc during but the whole incident the camera did show Damon in the audience. Unless he cloned himself there was no way he could have been in 2 places at the same time.

The mix-up was pretty brutal, but at least the producers of La La Land didn't make a big song and dance about it. :pinch:

I see what u did there!

People are really salty about this! :p

I don't feel as strongly about it as some seem to, but I do think that if they were going to double check one of the envelopes, they should probably have made it that one.

I'm sure I don't know what you mean. ;)

In all seriousness though, I thought they handled the situation with real class and showed a lot of dignity in handing back the award without making a fuss.

I thought it was awful that the situation was allowed to go so far that people had already given their personal thank you speeches as winners even though they had in actuality lost. Someone should have interrupted before the “La La Land” people had even gotten on stage.

There are those who believe that people in Hollywood are involved in satanic humiliation rituals and this one will definitely end up on the list. :O_O:

After a quick glance at the nominees, it seems likely there will be a number of first time winners this year. Frances McDormand is the most obvious exception I noticed.

I have seen five of the best picture nominees and I'm not sure I will see any more. It's rare for me to see all the Best Picture nominees.

I was a little surprised that Steven Spielberg and Martin McDonagh were left out of the Best Director category. There are only five places available, so I guess someone if always left out. I can't say I would remove anyone nominated to put them in.

For no good reason, my initial guesses of the winners (which no one is asking for ):

The Shape of Water

Guillermo del Toro

Gary Oldman

Frances McDormand

Sam Rockwell

Allison Janney

Coco

I would need a longer look to guess other categories.

The Academy has added a new award for Best Popular Film. I guess they were tired of hearing people complain about the Best Picture winner being a movie no one saw, so they added an award for movies people did see.

I forgot that the Academy delayed (possibly cancelled) this new award after bad press.
