Amy Lynn Lee (born December 13, 1981) is an American singer. She formed the band Evanescence with Ben Moody when they met at camp. Ben found Amy playing Meat Loaf's "I Would Do Anything for Love" at the camp's piano, and instantly knew she was the one. Amy needed a guitarist and Ben needed a singer. This marked the beginning of Evanescence.

In 2003, Evanescence's single, "Bring Me to Life" (featuring Paul McCoy), was featured on the soundtrack to the movie Daredevil, and it reached number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Lee was born in Riverside, California. She has a brother and two sisters. At school, Lee was head of Choir, drama, and participated in many plays. Her family moved to many places, including Illinois, Kansas, and Florida, but finally settled in Little Rock, Arkansas, where Evanescence started. She graduated from Pulaski Academy in the year 2000. She also briefly attended Middle Tennessee State University.

Her favorite artists are Björk, Tori Amos, Korn, Soundgarden, Portishead, Nirvana and Coldplay.
