Born Anne-Marie Petit, Paris, February 27, 1938, the future actress Pascale Petit, the divorce of his parents, was raised by his father, a musician. She lived her early years between affection and admiration that she dedicated to Dad and his taste for drawing.

This ability led him to pursue artistic studies that make it go through the course of decorative art at the Academy Charpentier. With a group of friends, students or young workers, it plans to participate in the purchase of a farm in Provence where everyone could contribute to a form of community life by the gain that could bring his personal talents: drawing for this is concerned.

But it takes money to build in Spain, while the castles are often resemble more than shanties of houses side of the Sun King. And to make money, at least in those days it was easier to work. Thus do we find the young Pascale doing shampoos heads at all posh Paris salons in the Carita sisters. Allergic to detergents, it is entrusted with activities less humid allowing him to hope for a future as a beautician.

Client of the salon, although it does not pass into his hands, the actress Françoise Lugagne noticed the beauty of Pascale - a name imposed by the Director hair. It is thought that the girl could be the pearl as sought by her husband, the director Raymond Rouleau, a secondary role - but important - in the film he was about to perform, "The Crucible "(1956).

Neither Anne-Marie, Pascale had never considered nor any artistic career and found themselves lacking when hard time hearing the inevitable was coming. And since we are not (yet) in a fairy tale, the attempt ended in failure learnedly delivered by Master Raymond. But Frances was the sequence of ideas: Pascale she took in hand for a few weeks, which allowed him to be admitted, after a follow-up session which presented themselves to other competitors, all subject to judgments Rouleau and his screenwriter, Jean-Paul Sartre.

Finished calves, cows, pigs, chickens, goat cheese and silk painting, to hell with Spain, long live the cinema!

Suzanne Bianchetti Award ...

The shooting of this first film was not easy for the inexperienced young actress, the character of an eccentric young woman to be whipped! But among the production assistants, the young Jacques Portet knew him bring comfort and support, enough so that the matter should end with a wedding!

This appearance was first noticed by an attentive spectator, director Alexandre Astruc. Conquered, he proposed to the actress Pascale, maid Maria Schell, in his new album, "A Life" (1957).

But it's the next film, which was finally launched her career. "A Life" was produced by Annie Dorfmann. For his part, Robert Dorfmann, her husband, gave shape to its next production. Those two had to say something! The fact is that Pascale was retained by Marcel Carné, nose (if not the beard!) Pascale Andret, other applicants for the film that he wrote with Charles Spaak and finished with Jacques Sigurd, "The Cheaters" ( 1958). The work, depicting the adventures of four young teenagers from Saint-Germain-des-Pres, a remarkable success. Pascale Petit, now star in their own right, is given in the wake of the Prix Suzanne Bianchetti, awarded annually to a promising young French actress.

Place the arms of Jean-Paul Belmondo to those of Alain Delon was not, in the late fifties, as flattering as it could appear later on. Especially since the relationship of the new star and leading man was quickly marked by the exchange of a good slap in the face! But everything was arranged quickly, and make it enjoyable Michel Boisrond knew the story of "Poor Women" "(1958) which were not that much!

Giani Esposito ...

In 1959, Pascale Petit, as a representative of French cinema, participating in the Festival of Moscow. In the Soviet capital, Jean turns Dréville "Normandie-Niemen". Among the players figure Giani Esposito, actor, poet and singer, mysticism attractive. A common spirituality brings them together. According to the actress (Youth Cinema No. 59), they married discreetly during the filming of "A Girl for the summer" (1959).

Quickly, as by his understanding that the depth of his character, the poet will dominate the actress, her career in a way consistent with its own artistic and moral requirements. The first two productions were common, "Towards Ecstasy" (1960) René Wheeler and "Cross of the Living" (1960) Yvan Govar on dialogues Maurice Clavel. Two failures penalizing than compensated not partial success of the unfortunate attempt to Henri Verneuil to ride the New Wave, "the case of a night" (1960).

But it was opposed by Giani participation of his wife in "Rocco and His Brothers" as Luchino Visconti was about to do. The poet believed that "no one should play the characters that would influence the audience in the sense of good" (Pascale Petit, Cinema Journal, 1974). So the role fell, as we know, Annie Girardot.

Giani Pascale leads far enough to land uncertain. The couple becomes part of a sect, "The Universal White Brotherhood" which follows the teaching meditation retreats and shares ...

But the career of actress ressenitt it strongly in the heart of which Italy became more and more important. "Lettere di una Novizia / the Novice," if he was able to find Jean-Paul Belmondo, left him only bad memories. And then never let us, alas, no ...

Empowerment, then silence ...

Giani retreats ever deeper into the intellectual universe. From their union were born two daughters, Mikala (1963) and Natalia (1966) who will be known as Ambassador of the French branch of Walt Disney as the Douchka. These happy events were not sufficient to maintain the unity of the couple separated in 1969.

Pascale Petit then joined Hollywood actor Ray Danton, his partner in what was long his last French film, "Corrida for a Spy" (1965). Link back to Europe and ephemeral (Pascale Petit, Ciné-Journal, 1974).

The second half of the career of the actress was divided mainly (and quantitatively speaking), between Italy and Germany, sauerkraut-fantasies ("Frau auch einen Grafen Wirtin Hat / Yes to Love, No to War ", 1968 ...) in spaghetti westerns (" in Joe ... posto per morire in cercati / Ringo ... Seeking a place to die "1968 ...).

In 1971, she attempted a return to French cinema in the first film (too) intimate Coggio Roger, "Chronicle of a Family." A little later, the song catches his attention: "There is only me," a text, dark but well written, it showcases a voice, albeit still too successful, but not devoid of quality.

Eventually we remain very obscure and it was not until the dawn of the "nineties" for from him. Humbly at first, through the "defenseless" (1989) Michel Nerval, more curiously, under the direction of Jean-Pierre Mocky - doubly happy surprise in "City for Sale" (1992).
