Yes, she's helping a bunch of high schoolers find a cost effective way to get spray tans by giving them free tanning coupons for prom season. The infomercial/video is a promotional activity for "Glissin."

Definitely an intelligent career move. At some point, those managing her will wise up and get her to do some kind of youtube video or something for exercise line equipment. That would be the easiest money ever minted, and provides an outlet to show some skin. At some point, the obviousness of the move will hit her and her team.

Marisa Miller: My Focus Has ‘Shifted’ Since Having a Baby

A few years ago, Marisa Miller was everywhere — on magazine covers, inside spreads and walking down the runways. And while the new mom has taken the last 16 months off, she feels like she is now ready to balance both work and motherhood and get back to doing what she loves.

“The main and most important reason my focus and attention has shifted is my beautiful boy Gavin,” she writes in a blog posted to her website. “I really wanted to be able to enjoy my pregnancy and the whole journey of this amazing process, without worrying about traveling and running myself crazy like the last 15 years!”

Sharing a photo of her serious 16-month-old son, Miller — who says that motherhood has “exceeded all my expectations” — adds that she’s settled into a new normal in Santa Cruz, Calif. “The challenges have been harder then I thought, but the love and fullness of my heart has been beyond what I imagined too,” she shares.

In addition to being surrounded by her family, Miller, 35, has also found a second support system: fellow moms. “I’ve really enjoyed the community of other moms who have shared advice and tips during pregnancy and after the baby is born,” she writes.

Big wave contest set for next wave of growth

...The contest was sold earlier this year to Griffin Guess and his Cartel Management. Among other things, Guess is a music producer and talent manager working with such artists as Kanye West and Jay-Z, and his company has produced ad campaigns for Harley-Davidson, Victoria’s Secret, Cadillac and the NFL. He is also married to well-known model and actress Marisa Miller. The star power, even before inviting any surfers, has been greatly magnified.

...After years of complaints of the performances not being taken seriously and that the prize money was not commensurate with their efforts, this has been quickly changed. Guess seems comfortable with making a significant financial commitment, even though no major sponsors have been announced. The meal alone (and guest rooms for the 24) had to be a pretty big chunk of change.

...Two moments in the lavish event stood out as very classy moves. One was the announcement of an alliance with the Monterey Bay Aquarium that will act as the Titans of Mavericks conservation partner. And the second was the presentation of two $5,000 checks made out to the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastside. The first was signed by Guess and the surfers in attendance, the other by Guess’ wife, Marisa Miller. Some might read it as a slick public relations move, but they certainly didn’t have to do it. Guess hinted that there’d be more where that came from.

Only time will tell if this new version of Mavericks will take root. This has been a fickle event with its share of drama. It will be a tricky thing to grow this event to the size that the new organizers envision without alienating the community in which it takes place. And the challenges of putting so much effort into something that may not happen at all is something that all previous organizers have faced.

This year, it seems, the commitment to the event has been exponentially increased. Whether surf conditions cooperate is another thing altogether. Mother Nature doesn’t negotiate, no matter what the prize money is.
