I know it isn't easy, but thanks guys for going for it :) . I just want to make a few things as clear as I can since there have been many revisions.

1. The performance list was taken out to make things more simple (as the two were getting confused).

2. So the film actress list (top 15) is a list of best (or most talented) actresses. The performance in parenthesis are ONLY for insurrance that the voter at least thinks for a second before putting the name. I repeat, the order is by actress talent, not best individual performance and the performance is only insurrance that the voter took at least a second to think.

So will there be rounds in this competition where people can decide which was the best acting (some of the acting could be on youtube links if people hadn't seen them acting)

or is it going to be like the totals added for all the lists and them being like a "top 100" thing (and no rounds)?

Totals from the lists. I wanted to do one on one, but I remember in the "Everything About Her" comp people were like, "I haven't seen any of her movies, a clip isn't enough" "its in Spanish" ect. But anyway, I was wondering if this would be easier as...

A) A poll with 20-30 respected actresses from the decade (2000-2010)

B) An all-time list

C) 90s-present list (in contrast to all time as that's the most common range of awareness of this sites demographic)

D) other, speak up if so

Speak now or forever hold your peace :hehe: .

The problem with polls is you can only vote for 1 person (or 3 if it's a 3 question poll) - unless it's multiple choice poll - and you can only have a maximum of 20 choices per question. And with multiple choice polls each person selected gets the same number of points/votes. eg. with totals from a list, you could give more points to people's favourites than their less favourites.

A 'competition' keeps the thread going for longer and could let people select which were the best from those that are nominated (and lets you have more options for scores - like you could have 0-5 or 0-10 for each person or put each nominated person in order (so the best gets 10 points, second best 8 etc.).

When I did a poll that included 60 actresses and I said was based on talent, and it included quite a lot of Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominees and Oscar/BAFTA/Golden Globe winners from 1999-today (as well as some that weren't nominated :)) only 11 people voted and it had less than a page of posts.

But 1999 to present (eg. C) would be good also, but we've already nominated haven't we - wouldn't we need to nominate again?.

So I think a 'competition' with rounds might be better to keep the competition going and gives people the chance to keep voting in the rounds instead of once for a poll/or a totals shown (like a top 100 list).

  7. Scarlett Johansson (Lost In Translation, Girl With A Pearl Earring, In Good Company, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Match Point, Scoop, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Prestige)
  8. Kate Beckinsale (Nothing But The Truth, The Aviator, Click, Laurel Canyon, Pearl Harbor, Underworld, Van Helsing, Whiteout)

  13. Rose Byrne (Adam, Wicker Park, Sunshine, Knowing, Troy)
  14. Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side, Crash, The Proposal)
  15. Nicole Kidman (Moulin Rouge!, Australia, Cold Mountain, The Others)

As for the TV, I have a problem, I don't watch many TV series.

  1. Amy Acker (Alias)
  2. Mía Maestro (Alias)
  3. Emilie De Ravin (Lost)
  4. Rachel Nichols (Alias)
  5. Evangeline Lilly (Lost)

PS: Watching other people's lists, I think I should include Ellen Burstyn (Requiem For A Dream, The Fountain, Greta).
