Maybe because of stupid reason number 2-being beautiful and healthy not ugly and scary skinny? Val is probaly the most facially beautiful model working today, but her career has run its course. And as an aside, I'm glad that Anja Rubik, who is similar to Val in many respects, continues to thrive--she's got more edge. I think the "ugly" model craze is over (Coco Rocha's popularity notwithstanding). Everyone is shitting in their pants over Catherine McNeil, who is womanly, sensual and conventionally pretty. That woman has the worst face and it gets even worse when she uses her signature "pissed off" look on the runway and ends up looking like an angry chimp. I dont know why fashion companies take these models, I just fail to see the logic in hiring someone like Coco over Valentina.
