The site asks for my passwords to online accounts, so I suspect that the trojan installed on my comp has a keylogger in it. Does anybody know a good keylogger remover? Guest quasicartes Posted May 26, 2005 Share Posted May 26, 2005 Thanks.I have Spy-Bot, Adware and SpyDoctor.I also use Mozilla and had the Windows XP firewall on, still I got the trojans in the system. I use mozilla (pop-up disabled, ActiveX disabled, highest security possible).My windows XP professional, anti-virus, anti-spywares and all other relevant programs are always updated daily.I wasn't even surfing porn. Only one more suggestion, dump McAfee and use Avast!.It has a web filter feature, designed exactly to prevent these types of attacks. The browser accesses the net through Avast!, and so it can recognise trojans still on the webpage and prevent them from downloading on your comp.btw just because they are on your comp, that doesn't mean that they are capable of working. But seriously, don't believe the marketing. You won't find an OS better than XP. But, if you want change, than instead of buying a Mac, why don't you switch to Linux? Not at the level of XP, but you see a nice graphical interface before your eyes. You don't need to learn special commands and type them in anymore. Suse Linux is a good example.Besides, you can KEEP your Win AND try Linux. You just create another partition, install Linux there and at boot time you choose which OS you want to use.Choose Linux if you want to surf the web, choose win for everything else. (There is no .exe or any other extension visible) The page took a long-time to load. So, close that window. I guess it did. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Surprisingly, it's exactly like a usual, boring log-in page. No Java noticeable. I was asked to enter my online gaming account username and password. It said it needed to access to my account to tinker it, so that I can have more gaming points. I knew straight away it's some stupid hacker's work. I thought these guys are script kiddies, but they are much more advanced. They got the trojans into my system in the most inconspicuous manner. @Blade: Thanks very much. But, I havee Avant already. Capt Snow Posted May 27, 2005 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Not all trojans launch as soon as they download into your system, so you could have possibly gotten it from anywhere, and it just happened to activate then. nyc_rocks is right though, safe surfing habits, which you don't seem to possess just by looking at all of the spyware threads you have started. As for an Anti-Keylogger, I haven't got a clue. Sometimes your system just needs a good cleaning, what better time than just after you get it infected. I wouldn't give a nickel dime about safety surfing habits if I am using Mac. <_< My surfing habit is relatively acceptable. I don't download much. My downloads are limited for South Park episodes (BITtorrent or direct download) and a few music album (eMule) and occasionally a few softwares from download.com Porn sites are very seldom visited, if ever. That's not how I meant it to come out if that is how you understood it. Just trying to poke a little fun And wanted to make sure it wasn't misunderstood. Ummm.... Most of those things you listed downloading from are usually pretty safe, so as you mentioned, it must have been that one site you went to. I haven't had to deal with key-logging, so I really have no suggestions. But someone around here has to have something helpful, Hopefully.
