Many people judge a cover he has and the showbiz image he has for the public which is not even close to half of what he is. I can honestly say that he's an amazing guy different from others. It would surprise many the lack of confidence and shyness which hides under the “actor's” cover. He's really down to earth and sensitive. He's a real gentleman… that's one of his main qualities. A guy who tries to make s difference in this shitty world when it comes to environment even though many people only criticize him for certain things and by not seeing all great things he does. I have met many people in my life and by far leo is the most amazing human being on earth it's a shame that he doesn't have a clue and he doesn't appreciate himself as much he should. Aw and we shouldn't forget that he is a natural charming guy who can take your world upside down in less than five minutes. You can get lost in his eyes or even way he speaks his manners his smile or even his voice… He can read you by talking to you …he's a guy with intuition well defined who can really know you in a short time. He has a hard time to trust people and can be really paranoid sometimes and he can make plans in less than three minutes without even asking you for any kind of permission… Ok to summarize: he's the most amazing human being on earth not only talented …professional but also this sweet caring guy who has the right words when you need them the most." Omg, this almost made me cry, such beautiful words. No wonder he captivates soo much people around the world, it's not just his talent, but there is something more about him, that even if we know only a few things about him and still we are in love with him for decades... imagine those with the lucky to be close to him and get to know him more deeply. It is one thing for her to choose a place that is not that fan-based to write about Leo and another for me to put it up here with her name. Boogie Nights is highly regarded for its tragic depiction of a group of misfits working in pornography, but the memorable role of Dirk Diggler was originally turned down by Leonardo DiCaprio. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards and Reynolds won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of porn filmmaker Jack Horner. Graduating from sitcoms like Parenthood and Growing Pains, DiCaprio received his first starring role opposite Robert DeNiro in This Boy’s Life. The role of Dirk Diggler required an actor capable of being rough and volatile without ever losing a crucial vulnerability. Speaking on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Paul Thomas Anderson revealed how he loves DiCaprio and was “obsessed” with his previous work. However, the Romeo + Juliet star turned down the role to star in another huge film, arguably working out for the best for all involved. DiCaprio is a fantastic actor, but he may not have been the right choice for Boogie Nights. Anderson had seen DiCaprio as heroin addict Jim Carroll in The Basketball Diaries and was set on casting the actor as Diggler, except DiCaprio turned him down to make Titanic with James Cameron. The romantic lead in the semi-historical disaster movie was a far cry from the notoriously well-endowed porn star who develops a drug addiction. According to Grantland, DiCaprio liked the script but was never officially attached to Boogie Nights, leaving a couple of months before filming began. Contradictory to reports of DiCaprio battling Wahlberg for the role, it was apparently DiCaprio who recommended his friend and Basketball Diaries-co-star. Boogie Nights’ casting director Christine Sheaks also had Wahlberg in mind as her first choice, and Anderson trusted the former pop star and underwear model could play the part after admiring his performance alongside DiCaprio. Wahlberg was initially skeptical as the reviled 1995 erotic drama Showgirls still lingered in the public consciousness and he wanted to know Anderson seriously wanted him as an actor, and not for his modeling past. While DiCaprio was already popular, Wahlberg hadn’t yet shaken his Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch persona. After working on The Basketball Diaries, he starred in Fear alongside Reece Witherspoon, but it wasn’t until his outstanding performance in Boogie Nights that critics took him seriously as a dramatic actor. Sheaks credited his working-class background and “street quality” in determining his appeal, which certainly helped craft the character. Wahlberg’s troubled past gave him a rougher edge that fit Diggler’s tragic fall from grace while retaining sensitivity for his lost innocence. In contrast, DiCaprio still had a boyish quality that didn’t quite blend with the hard exterior necessary for the character's exploits in the world of porn. Ultimately, Anderson believes Wahlberg was the best choice for Dirk Diggler. However, the prospect of DiCaprio taking on Boogie Nights instead of Titanic poses the question of how differently his career would have panned out. His on-screen romance with Kate Winslet is one of the most talked-about of all time and proved to be a much bigger commercial hit that sealed his place in movie history. Never thought of how particular and precise you need to be with every little detail of a huge movie. And in the landscape when everyone had the movie on their screen twisting and turning the picture. Like a big thing or wide. 😂 That was some serious bounty money. There is probably a lot of people on the hunt for it. For the excitement or the money. I read about a rich man that created a treasure hunt with a map and riddles he put in the local newspaper. He buried the treasure out in the wilderness.
