The two American tycoons had the grace to admit that they're not exactly steeped in the history of English football in general, or Liverpool Football Club in particular. We can therefore forgive them for not yet enjoying a fluent grasp of football vocabulary. However, a note to the advisors of any other budding American investors in English football.

A football club like Liverpool is not, and never will be a 'franchise!'

Yikes. They called the Pool a franchise? That's one way to start of on the wrong foot. :|

Much to my annoyance, yes. However, Mascherano decided to one-up the new owners by showing his enthusiasm at leaving West Ham behind and calling himself a red devil  Can you feel the love? <_<

"Already Gillett has said that he will consider selling the naming rights to Anfield stadium, and has referred to the club as a "franchise" and "Liverpool Reds." "

Renaming Anfield...

"And now we go over to Guy Mowbray at Budweiser park, for Liverpool - Manchester United. "

:yuckky: :yuckky: :yuckky:

 It's a franchise now  and If Ashburton Grove won't do for Arsenal, then I guess Stanley park it shall not be for Liverpool. Budweiser or some other crappy name would be expected. It would be ironic if Kraft were to buy the naming rights for the new stadium

Hmmm true. Arsenal were pretty lucky [again] and it's not good enough!

There is such a lack of consistency at home and the Gunners need to get past it quick.

Oh, Galatasaray won 4-0 tonight, Umit Karan scored all FOUR! :woot:

That's what you get for using youngsters, but to have a team as young as yours and still be up in 3rd/4th just shows how talented that squad is. I won't go as far as Alan Hansen, but if you use youths, it is expected that they will have issues with their consistency throughout a season.

All 4? :o (Y)
