There were 4 of us that were Petra's guest, myself and the auction winners from her official forum! We were treated with the upmost respect. Petra is a class act. It can be hard on your body, and the travel can be very lonely. There are lots of challenges involved: physical, emotional and also mental. Like standing in super-cold water and turning blue. Or doing a photo shoot on the streets of New York in the middle of winter. Some people treat you very badly in this industry; they treat you as a hanger; especially when you are starting out. So that can be very hard. But you do get very strong because of it. Every job has its pluses and minuses. If I focused on the minuses, I would probably have finished with modeling a long time ago.WHAT ABOUT THE PLUS SIDE?There are so many pluses – the travel, the people I meet. Modeling is an amazing school of life. You’re exposed to so many different cultures, and you learn how to speak languages very fast. I've never been that person," the Grammy-nominated "You're Beautiful" singer, 32, tells Life magazine in its upcoming issue. In truth, he says, "I'm a big partier." Then again, his partying can be productive. "I drink a lot. I do," he says. "And I go to a quiet place and start writing. I'm not an observer, [songs come from] something I've experienced or felt. The last two years will have a place on the next record." Those two years cover the blossoming of Blunt's relationship with model Petra Nemcova, whom he's been seeing since May 2005. (Despite rumors of strife late last year, in November Nemcova, 27, assured PEOPLE that she and Blunt were still "very much in love.") And from the sound of it, he may want to things a step further.
