laskaun Posted February 13, 2009 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Ukrainian actress and latest Bond girl, Olga Kurylenko, will star alongside Orlando Bloom and Vincent Cassel in a sci-fi thriller “The Cross” by Andrew Niccol. The story takes place in the nearest future: Orlando Bloom plays an ambitious young man, trying to cross a certain border, that no one ever managed to cross before, while Vincent Cassel must stop him from accomplishing this task. Kurylenko will play the female lead. The production should begin in July, 2009 in Australia, with the estimated budget of $24 million. Andrew Niccol’s previous successful works include screenplays for “The Truman Show,” “The Terminal” and “Lord of War,” which he also directed. As for Olga Kurylenko, skeptics who predicted her fame to be short-lived can bite their tongues. Apart from “The Cross,” she’s already signed up for another major project – historical thriller “Centurion,” to be directed by Neil Marshall.
