What about Slash? Is he overrated or not?

I think he's the younger 'version' of Jimmy Page. He's really good, I like his loose style.

He`s amazing..now that I think about it..I can`t choose between Page, Jimi and Slash.[but I already voted for Jimi lol]

Yeah i know they are completely different styles but the sheer speed is there. I'm not a fan of speed orgasm guitar, but some guys like it so all power to them. I prefer Holdsworth to Becker (Becker just hurts after a while) but there's only so much pretentious neo-classical boasting a poor guitar teacher from fucking Kent can take.

Voted May. I love his solos and also adore the little things he plays in the background. Best example: You don't fool me after the 4:00 minute.

Runner-ups:

Gilmour

Knopfler

Page.

I'm sad to notice that Santana and Mark Knopfler are missing from the list.

Check out Knopfler's earlier works with Dire Straits he was fantastic!

Songs to check:

Money for nothing

Sultans of swing

and the ultimate solo:

Brother's in Arms

I`m listenin to The Wall now. Gilmour is truly a genius.

Props to you, Passion :)

Although this record is almost entirely Waters' work, Gilmour still has his solos there :)
