penny-dreaddfull Posted January 16, 2008 Share Posted January 16, 2008 Let me conclude THE ODDITORIUM's current sojourn in the land of dogs - with a brief piece on our most prized canine exhibit.Sam was the three-times winner of the WORLD'S UGLIEST DOG competition - winning his final trophy but two days before his death in November 2006. Whilst I'm sure he was sweet, and his owners no doubt loved him (oh, but how we all think our babies are the prettiest, no?) and his farts smelt of roses, etc... ...he truly was SPECTACULARLY ugly: Bless you Sam - you'll always be remembered here... oohh sam!! a face only a mother and penny-d could love.gawd the ugliness is soo sublime it crosses over into cuteness somehow. Here he is on his wedding day, just for scale (he's 7ft9in): And, naturally, there's a Yin to his Yang - here's Khagendra Thapa Magar - he's not officially the world's smallest man because he's only 14 - but I think that's being pedantic: "What you talking about, Willis?" He's a mere 20cm tall - I don't think that's a good enough reason to treat him like doll though: Now, I'd like to think that this was totally organic - there Bao was, walking along the street like he does - when SUDDENLY: He only goes and nearly squashes Khagendra, similarly going about his own merry way! Alas, this was a contrived and voyeuristic press conference. A freakshow photo-op. But one which is thoroughly welcomed at THE ODDITORIUM... Apparently so, according to this picture: According to the god-botherer responsible for this picture, this is "UNDENIABLE PROOF" that Papa Juan Pablo 2 is indeed watching over us. Hmmm? Seems to me, were I wanting to prove my afterlife existence, that I'd choose something a tad more direct than a spurious shape in a random fire based on some fairly insignificant photo of me. Like the former Pope, Mother Teresa was a hugely revered figure in the Christian world. Even before her death people wanted her canonised for her good deeds in Calcutta and spreading hope and joy around the world.
