alisa Posted December 12, 2007 Share Posted December 12, 2007 well, i have to add something that i have said for million times.supermodels are the girls from one era, late 80's until late 90's.they don;t need last names, they did all runways,advs,covers.... other models can be topmodels like gisele is.but naomi, christy,helena,..... and like 15 other girls were not only models, but popstars, movie stars, they were larger than life,they had more attention focused on their lives than miss spears or madonna or sienna miller. I did see quite a few "supermodels" though. To me the last supermodels were of the late 80's - mid 90's like someone said who were not only models, but celebrities and every one knew of them (not just people interested in fashion). men who only cared about football, more and likely knew who Christie Brinkley and Cindy Crawford, etc, were. Now its just not like that. I would say the closest thing to "Supermodels" these days are definitely Gisele, and some of the VS models. High fashion models should never be considered supermodels IMO. A model should be commercial,high fashion and a celebrity before I call them a supermodel. nonetheless that video was cool and I love the song.
