Derek Jeter Lands On Post Cover With Bikini-Clad Girlfriend

post-17383-1258693584_thumb.jpg

Is Post trying to do at least one Derek Jeter-front page a week? Last week, Jeter's homeless bum cameo for a movie got him front page treatment—and now it's his vacation with girlfriend Minka Kelly!

The Post states the obvious, "It's good to be Derek Jeter"—and reports that he and girlfriend, actress Minka Kelly, are "spending post-postseason down time frolicking on the beach... staying at a luxury beach house in St. Barts... Kelly, 29, sizzled in a yellow bikini bottom and turquoise top. The buff Jeter, 35, sported fashionable blue and white checkered swimming trunks -- a treat for female Yankee fans who usually see the stud only in pinstripes."

Derek Jeter, Minka Kelly set to become Mr. and Mrs. 'November'

Women of New York, start weeping.

After months of speculation that the Yankees' hunk and his sexy steady Minka Kelly are headed to the altar, The Post has learned that the super couple may have settled on a wedding date -- Nov. 5.

And while it may bring little solace to Jeter's legion of female admirers, fretful Yankees fans will be glad to note the date is at least two days after the World Series ends.

After getting a tip about the upcoming nuptials, The Post confirmed the date by spotting a curious entry in the official calendar at the ritzy reception palace Oheka Castle in Huntington, LI, for the first Friday in November that read simply "JETER wedding."

THERE'S A HITCH: Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly frolic in St. Barts. Word is they've reserved the opulent Oheka Castle in Huntington, LI, for a Nov. 5 wedding day.

Page Six broke the story of their secret engagement in August. And in November, The Post also ran photos of Jeter and Kelly frolicking in the water off St. Barts -- and looking very much in love.

The sumptuous Long Island site is certainly suitable for the superstar shortstop. The opulent Oheka features a French-style chateau hotel and spa, with an exquisite main ballroom and formal gardens with eight reflecting pools and three fountains.

The castle -- the second-largest private residence in the United States -- has hosted lavish parties for royalty, Hollywood stars and heads of state for nearly a century. Teen idol Kevin Jonas was married there last month.

Oheka, known for fiercely protecting the privacy of its guests, would not comment.

But a Post reporter, posing as a bride-to-be seeking to book a wedding that weekend, was shown a scheduling calendar printout as sales manager Rick Bellando explained that the castle hosts just one wedding per day -- and the entire weekend in question was already booked.

A quick peek at the calendar revealed Jeter's name in big bold letters.

When our spy asked if couples were ever open to switching dates for money, Bellando said most were so wealthy, money was not an issue.

"I guess if it were Derek Jeter getting married, he really wouldn't care about my money," our reporter suggested, pointing to the entry.

Bellando chuckled, but quickly tried to dismiss speculation.

"Oh, that's not Derek Jeter. We wouldn't use his real name if it were. When the Jonas brother got married here last month, we used a different name."

Derek Jeter Wedding? Or a Big Error?

post-17383-1263287063_thumb.jpg

Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly

Somehow it's hard to picture: Derek Jeter picking out place settings and flower arrangements in between chasing another World Series title.

But that's the word from his hometown paper, the New York Post, which reports the Big Apple's most eligible bachelor for a long time is finally going to settle down with a November 5 wedding to Minka Kelly.

Never mind that the pair haven't even confirmed they're engaged, or that the run-up to baseball's Fall Classic may cut into the Yankee star's wedding-planning commitments: the ceremony is supposedly scheduled for two days after the end of the World Series. Not to mention, the Yankees still have to make it to the Series for the scheduling conflict to be an issue.

Their reps so far have not commented, and the news reports that have come since conflict. An NBC Sports blog thinks the wedding is for Jeter's sister, not him, while Sports Illustrated reports that not only is the wedding true, but they've known about it for weeks.

Derek Jeter, Minka Kelly wedding is just talk, says friend

post-17383-1263460603_thumb.jpg

Derek Jeter and long-time girlfriend, Minka Kelly, are still happy but have no plans to get married anytime soon, according to a friend of the couple.

post-17383-1263460617_thumb.jpg

Jeter and Kelly have been dating since May 2008.

Relax, ladies - Derek Jeter isn't engaged.

A friend of Minka Kelly - the TV bombshell Jeter has been dating since May of '08 - tells us that rumors of a Nov. 5 wedding at a posh Long Island country club are unfounded.

"Minka says things are great between her and Derek - and they're definitely serious - but there's no talk of an engagement," the pal says, adding that "Minka has not been wearing a ring."

The source continued that many of Kelly's close friends have heard nothing of an engagement - besides the rumors that have been floating around since the weekend. Reps for Jeter and Kelly, meanwhile, didn't return calls for comment by deadline.

This isn't the first time false allegations have been made about impending nuptials for the two (r.): In August, The News dispelled rumors that they were getting hitched after the '09 World Series as well.

So how did the latest whispers begin? It may be a case of mistaken identity. Recently, Jeter's father, Charles, let it slip that he was getting ready to see one of his children walk down the aisle - but he was talking about daughter Sharlee, who's engaged to rapper Skyzoo. Besides, if the Nov. 5 wedding was in fact for Derek, an insider says the posh Oheka Castle - the venue that was reported to be hosting the event - would never have leaked the news.

"That place is known for being extremely hush-hush," says a Huntington hospitality source. "Tiger Woods has stayed there, and Kevin Jonas just had his wedding there. Those details were completely kept under wraps, and there's no way that the hotel would let something like this leak."

What's more, the reported date of the nuptials would be quite a conflict for the captain of America's most popular baseball team: It falls right at the end of the World Series 2010 schedule.

"Although the exact dates for the series have obviously not been set, the 5th will be right around the end of it, depending on rain dates," a well-informed baseball source says. "It seems highly unlikely that Jeter would choose to get married that weekend. If the Yankees win, it would possibly be the day of the ticker tape parade."

We have a feeling that any Yankee - even the ever-romantic Jeter - would prefer walking up Broadway to down the aisle any day.
