TANYA BOCHNIG Tanja Bochnig is a multifaceted personality. She works as a yoga teacher, perfumer and model. After having finished her studies in Germany, she starts modeling, winning a 5-year contract from the famous model agency „Elite“, that nominated her two times in a row for the „Look of the year“. This is the beginning of a very successful career. Tanja Bochnig does runway shows and editorials for the international elite of designers and glossy magazines. She travels around the world working with famous photographers like Patrick Demarchelier or Gilles Bensimon, lives in Paris, London and New York and gets in touch with different cultures. But above all she learns how to feel comfortable being with herself and finding her physical and mental balance through yoga and natural perfumery – the two passions in her life. She starts practising yoga as a student in New York, today she is a certified yoga teacher and combines one passion with another: She establishes a completely new form of yoga – aroma yoga – „the synergistic marriage of two teachings“ as she herself calls it. The perfect method against stress and mental or physical disharmony. Her wonderful chakra oils and chakra sprays work wonders. Advanced training in natural perfumery and aromatherapy by various master perfumers, such as Kathryn Degraff, a student of the famous perfumer Edmond Roudnitska, and travels to India and Turkey where the ingredients for her perfumes are grown, inspire her to establish her own organic scent and cosmetics line „April Aromatics“ .After having lived away from Germany for 20 years, she moves to Berlin where she now works and resides with her family. With „April Aromatics“ she follows an ideal, that only a few perfumers in the world do: the ingredients are certified organic or wild crafted whenever possible and 100% natural – they are from flowers, leaves, roots, barks, fruits and seeds. All perfumes are infused with semiprecious stone essences. The wonderful creations are highly esteemed amongst connoisseurs. Tanja Bochnig believes strongly in the power of nature and follows a holistic life style. The healing aspect is the most important factor in her work, feeling herself disturbed or even sick by chemical products and ingredients. Tanja Bochnig didn’t just create another perfume line, she shares her soul with us: „I strongly believe that people can feel the love and energy I give into my perfumes – may it be conscious or unconscious. Adding chemical ingredients into natural essences is like putting MSG on your organic food. Trust in the power of nature. That’s all we need.“ Tanja Bochnig Her sensitivity allows her to feel compassion for others and to sense their needs or what they love. That’s why she especially loves to create special blends for individuals. At the moment she is working on a signature scent for a Berlin designer, amongst other private label projects.
