Rolston is known for his signature lighting techniques and detailed approach to art direction and design, and has been repeatedly identified throughout his career with the revival and modern expression of Hollywood glamour. Career Born in Los Angeles, Rolston was “discovered” by Andy Warhol for Warhol's celebrity focused Interview magazine, where he began a successful career in photography. Soon after, he began shooting covers and editorial assignments for founding editor Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone. Shortly, other well-established publications began to recognize[vague] Rolston’s work, such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Vanity Fair, W, GQ, Esquire, Cosmopolitan,O: The Oprah Magazine, and The New York Times. Extending his vision beyond still photography into the moving image, Rolston began conceiving, writing and directing music videos and television commercials for such diverse clients as Madonna, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé Knowles, L’Oreal, Revlon, Esteé Lauder, Clairol, Levi's, Pantene, Elizabeth Arden, Gap, and Polo Ralph Lauren, among others. Rolston's has also appeared as a guest expert on a spectrum of beauty-oriented broadcast programs, from Bravo's Shear Genius and Make Me a Supermodel to the CW's America's Next Top Model. Adding the title of Creative Director to his résumé, Rolston also works in the area of experiential design, including hospitality, product design, and new media ventures.   7. José Picayo was born in Havana, Cuba in 1959. He was raised by loving parents and has 4 brothers and one sister. In 1966 his family left Cuba and moved to Puerto Rico. They then moved to Kent, Ohio in 1975 where he attended high school and Kent State University for 2 years. In 1981 José left Kent for New York to complete his studies at Parsons School of Design. He received a BFA in 1983. José assisted various photographers for 5 years after college and started working commercially as a photographer in 1987. He has worked on many projects, both editorially and commercially, for clients around the world. His clients include Harper's Bazaar, Rolling Sone, LA Times Magazine, Esquire, New York Magazine, House & Garden, Elle Décor, House Beautiful, Martha Stewart, New York Times Magazine, Anne Klein, Neiman Marcus, Nine West, Nordstrom, West Elm and Willams Sonoma. José is also represented by the Robin Rice Gallery in New York City where he has had numerous solo and group exhibitions. By 24 he had moved to Italy and was spotted by Marco Reati, the editor of L'Uomo Vogue, who commissioned a ten-page feature spread for the magazine with the model Josh Holloway. He went on to shoot editorials for Arena Magazine, Details and Marie Claire as well as for major fashion campaigns such as Valentino and MaxMara. With portraits of Beyonce, Usher and Gwen Stefani, he has an impressive portfolio of celebrity photography. In 1994 he started the Art Department in New York with Jordan Shipenberg. After 15 years in New York he decided to move back home to Texas.
