  1. Its kindof funny that people still refer to Lemmy as a pioneer of speed metal when he always said that they weren't speed metal, but punk :mellow: .

      Funny it is! But he didn't even refer to his music as Punk but plain Rock n' Roll. He actually hated when people referred to Motörhead as a Metal band. 

      "We're Motörhead, and we play Rock n' Roll"
      The problem is too many people seem to think that distorted guitars equals Metal... and it's way too common to see people referring to bands like Guns N' Roses, Motörhead or even AC/DC as Heavy Metal.

      There seems to be a raging battle about whether Zeppelin, Van Halen and co. are heavy metal or not too. I don't think they are metal, but think these bands are pretty much universally considered to be 'hard rock' although metal is still different. At least metal is a subgenre of hard rock. I try not to argue with them unless they say Sabbath isn't metal :ninjaknives:.
