LuNo
Guti: “The loser would almost surely say goodbye to their League chances”He came out and he revolutionised the meeting with a footballing intelligence that is within reach of very few players. His magical passes sparked off the final victory. Guti rated the victory very highly because “...whoever lost was sure to say au revoir to their chances. I think the second half was especially good, with high intensity. We pocketed three crucial points.” On his assists, he mentioned, “In the pitch, I saw the space and I made two passes that were perfectly put away by my teammates. The 2-1 proved key for the team's morale.”“We are convinced that we are going to win the League. We just have to keep on winning games and wait for our opponents to drop points. We will do it thanks to the unity that we have established with the fans. This allows us added vigour, which then enables us to win games,” said Guti. LuNo
Assist KingsGuti and Raül López, top the assists ranking of the football and basketball leaguesFigures say Guti and Raül López are the best assist men in the Spanish football and basketball leagues, with 6 and 127 assists, respectively. There is only one game left in the ACB League, after which López will be proclaimed leading assist man of the championship. The spotlight is normally on players that score goals or points for their teams, but sometimes it draws attention on those who gave them the assists from which they scored. The best assist men in the Spanish football and basketball Leagues are Real Madrid's Guti and Raül López.Guti has provided six assists this season, more than anyone else in the League. His delivery is simply perfect. The assists he gave Van Nistelrooy and Robinho against Sevilla this weekend were sensational. Guti stands out in a competition that has some of the best midfielders in the world. The race to lead the ACB assists charts has changed drastically in the past few weeks. Raül López leads the assists ranking with an average of 4.38 assists per game -he has dished 127 in the last 29 encounters. He is followed in the ranking by Pepe Sánchez (Unicaja) and Pablo Prigioni (TAU). Real Madrid's Kerem Tunçeri is also in the top 15. López is only one game away from being proclaimed top assist man of the ACB.
