I saw it earlier this week. Its very much a slow burn movie. Its not in your face CGI nonsense from the very start. I very much enjoyed and when you finally get the payoff at the end its well worth. The human story has its ups and downs, but Godzilla himself was absolutely perfect. I dug the MUTO designs too. It really does Godzilla justice.

I agree, I loved the movie. You don't see Godzilla that much but it's worth the wait because he is so amazing! But it's not like there aren't any monsters because you do see monster that was only a glimpse in the trailers quite a bit in the movie. I liked the human story but not so much the parts that featured the young wife. Bryan Cranston's acting was so well done.

I was worried about this movie because of the last American Godzilla movie but thank god Godzilla looked and sounded like Godzilla and not a T-Rex.

It's well worth seeing.

I went to see it last night.

I really liked it! As Danos said, the human story may have indeed it's ups and downs, but we all know that's not the main focus here. Godzilla was amazing, I only would have liked to see it more, but it was really well done. The MUTOs were a nice addition too as I definitely wasn't expecting something of that sort. I also liked the background story they made for Godzilla, and of course the design of the creature was absolutely perfect.

And the music!!! Awesome music and so well done and fitting with the movie atmosphere. So well written score, it caught my attention right from the beginning, great orchestration too.

I quite liked it. It seem to lose its way a bit when the 'mystery' was over and Kick-Ass (who didn't make for a particularly compelling lead) was expected to pick up the slack, but it was full of visual and audio brilliance and had a nice slow burning setup, something that seems to be lacking in a lot of modern blockbusters.

My advice would be to judge it on what it sets out to achieve and see it on the noisiest IMAX screen you can find.
