It's great that Lukas is so close to Leo and his friends. They are soooooo lucky to have that close, brotherhood thing going on. A lot of people aren't that fortunate. But sometimes I wonder when Lukas will start to do his own thing, he basically never has a girlfriend that he travels with or takes on couples vacation. With Kevin Connolly he did things with Lydia Hearst separately as a couple and now with Sabina he takes her on couples trip. Lukas and Saule don't seem like an actual couple, she's been in Lithuania the whole summer and now Dubai and whenever she's outside the country Lukas never meets her anywhere.... Yet he seems to always be a part of any trip Leo and company are having within and outside the country. And if it's a couples trip we never ever see Saule around. It's odd, and I can't help but get disappointed whenever I see Lukas around Leo, it's weird but I can't help it Lukas comes off as this third wheel so many times. At least Vinny appears to be dating Mina. I don't know how serious that is or if he'll ever take her on couples trips, but still Vinny is not like Lukas in the sense that he's not usually around on couples trips. It was looking good when Saule was visiting Lukas in Canada, but not anymore. It's one sided because Lukas never goes to her anywhere. I don't even know if they are still dating or even if they are an actual couple. If still dating, it's got to be a super casual relationship

And in regards to Kelly, maybe when Leo starts doing things with Kelly's family, vacationing and such then maybe I'll take them a little more seriously. However, as of now I don't see anything special about her. But we'll see.

I can understand why you'd think that. I remember back in 2011 during the days they posted on Mobli, I initially thought they were dating. But no, Nikki Erwin is the long time girlfriend of Chuck Pacheco. And Chuck is close friends with Leo and his crew.

In The Departed, DiCaprio once again showed his talent for accents, this time with a Boston “Southie” accent in the role of Billy Costigan.

I have one question to this: I've read many many times Leo would suck with accents. I'm german so I have no clue when it comes to different accents in the american language. So can anyone tell me who does if he's good or really that bad?

^There are some critics who say he isn't the best at accents, but thats far and few. The critics who say that usually either didn't like the movie or don't like Leo. Sometimes he fades in out on the accents that aren't that strong. Like in Wolf, I know he wasn't supposed to have a major accent or anything, just some New York/Brooklyn undertones, which it did sometimes faded in and out. In the Departed his accent was from Boston, and he sounded like it very well, sometimes he did fade out when he yells or whatever, but all-in-all he's pretty good. Not just saying as somebody who's a huge fan of him, but as somebody who's a movie fan in general  

 

His Aviator accent was spot on throughout the entire film, and so was his African accent in blood diamond. I know there were a lot of people from South Africa who said he nailed it.

The Revenant: The Stage Is Set For Leo's Crowning Glory

The highest level of recognized achievement in Hollywood—and in the world of acting at large—is the Academy Award. Aside from a flirtation with playing Spider-Man for James Cameron in the late 1990s, DiCaprio has resisted franchise films. However that hasn't stopped him from making bold choices in roles, in the past few years. Around 2010, the actor seemed to make the conscious decision to pick characters and films that were much more challenging. This same year, he took on the role of Randall Cobb in Christopher's Nolan's reality-altering action movie, Inception. This is the first time that saw DiCaprio as an action star in a science-fiction film and audiences were rewarded with a classic film.

'Django Unchained'

While most actors at this time would have cashed in on the $800 million dollar worldwide success of Inception and become an action star, DiCaprio chose a different, darker route. His sway toward villainy began to take form when he portrayed the infamous former head of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar. However, the actor was still willing to stretch his antagonistic muscles even further in the near future.


'The Wolf of Wall Street'

The role that proved that were no boundaries to his range came in the form of nefarious plantation owner Calvin J. Candie in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. In a scene that has since become evidence of his commitment to his craft, DiCaprio really did shatter a glass and cut open his hand. However, he never breaks character and delivers one of the most menacing performances in recent memory, smearing blood across costar Kerry Washington's shocked face.

His last role as real-life Wall Street swindler Jordan Belfour, in Scorsese's Wolf of Wall Street, gave him his latest Best Actor nomination. Twenty years after his first nomination as Arnie Grape, he is still being consistently recognized by the Academy. However, what is most interesting is how diametrically opposite his first nominated role and most recent nomination in 2013 are from each other.

The Future: The Revenant


'The Revenant'

From the moment Leonardo DiCaprio appeared on screen in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? the actor has proven that he is Oscar-worthy. Through the various phases of his career, whether it was in his teenage heartthrob era, his superb dramatic run in the 2000's, or even when he is playing the most vile creeps, he has consistently given award-caliber performances, in all roles and genres. All which will seemingly culminate in the upcoming film The Revenant. The movie is based on true events and DiCaprio plays early American explorer Hugh Glass, who is mauled bear during an expedition and left to die by his fellow explorers. Glass unexpectedly survives the attack and goes on a murderous path of revenge on those who betrayed him.

The film promises to be an incredibly visceral experience. Academy Award-winning director Iñárritu (Babel, Birdman) decided to shoot the film using only natural light. Which is a risky, yet rewarding gamble, when surrounded by actors and crew as talented as DiCaprio, Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road) and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, (Gravity, Birdman) who has a couple of Oscars on his shelf as well.

This movie looks to be the culmination of all of DiCaprio's acting experiences. Combining the will to survive seen in Titanic, the totally unhinged elements of his performance that was glimpsed in Wolf of Wall Street, and the qualities of righteous anti-hero seen in numerous other films, it looks as if this might be another definitive masterpiece and the beginning of a new chapter in DiCaprio's career. Though it has not been defined by an Oscar win, his oeuvre is the living definition of an Academy Award career. With all these pieces in place, Leonardo DiCaprio is surely set for another nomination, and his part in The Revenant gives him the best chance yet to take home the gold.

The Revenant opens in limited release on December 25th, 2015 and wide release on January 8th, 2016.
