The quirky and iconic 39-year-old American actor, Ryan Reynolds, will be starring in a new film called Truth In Advertising.

The feature will be an adaption of John Kennedy's novel of the same title that explores a confused and lonely advertising executive's life, and society's rampant obsession with consumerism. Reynolds will play the part as the advertising executive, and in the film, he will be forced to work on Christmas Eve, sending him into a whirlwind of confusion and doubt.

Producers Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel told mass American entertainment source Deadline, "John Kenney has adapted his genius novel beautifully and crafted a smart, funny, modern tale which analyses society's obsession with consumerism. His script is in safe hands with Roger Michell who previously explored our media-crazed culture in 'Notting Hill.'"

The two also contested that Reynolds is "perfect for the role."

If Reynolds fans cannot wait for this highly anticipated film to come out, then look forward to his soon to be released action-packed feature, Deadpool.

The film will shortly be released in 2016.
