I think what you're giving is your general Wii friend code, what we need to Brawl though is your Brawl friendcode which is 12 digits, you can find it by
- starting the game
- go to Nintendo Wi-fi Connection
- go to With Friends
- go to Friend Roster

it should be up there next to your name in the top-right corner
you can also add us on this page (i hope)
