Elisabeth Röhm


Elisabeth Röhm (born April 28, 1973) is a German-American television actress best known for playing Serena Southerlyn on the television drama Law & Order, a role she played from 2001 to 2005.


Her first major television role was as Dorothy "Dorf" Hayes on the soap opera One Life to Live (1997). She also had recurring guest appearances on Angel as Detective Kate Lockley and a regular role on the TNT drama Bull.


Röhm was born in Düsseldorf, Germany. She moved to New York City before reaching her first birthday and later lived in Greenwich, Connecticut. She maintains dual citizenship (U.S. and Germany). Her father, Eberhard, was a German corporate attorney. Her mother, Lisa, once wrote for the soap opera Guiding Light. The two divorced when Röhm was 8 or 9.


She attended Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York, where she studied writing and European history.


Röhm wrote an unpublished novel about a 21-year-old woman in 1911 Scotland whose husband committed suicide. Röhm collects paintings by Woodstock, New York artist Justin Love, a friend of hers. She also enjoys horseback riding.


She made Maxim magazine's "Hot 100" list in 2002. She was engaged to MSNBC's Dan Abrams from 2003 to 2005. Her favorite workout is weightlifting and strength training.
