I voted Rap, but I listen to all kinds of music. The rap that I like is mostly underground, like Ras Kass, Dilated Peoples, Mos Def, ya know rappers like that. But hey, my favorite rapper, and in my opinion is the greatest rapper of all time, is Tupac Shakur. I also listen to Norah Jones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sarah McLachlan, Beck, Collective Soul, and L.A. Symphony. Right now, I'm digging the Gorillaz new album.

I like jazz as of right now, cause im studying it, the greats , Miles davis, Dave Brubeck, pat martino, al dimeola, oscar peterson trio, etc.
But there is a point where i love and will always love ALT rock, the label they used back in the late 80s to the early 90s bands being an example of this
Sonic Youth
Wilco
Radio Head
Smashing pumpkins (earlier)
But now alt means something completely different like now u think of probally
Tantric, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20 etc... which is alright i guess, but i totally dig the earlier meaning of alt more

I LOVE EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC!

Somebody into breakbeat! Old skool or nu skool?

Jul 5 2005, 05:13 AM
sorry Pa, I was never deeply involved with breakbeats so I don't know much about it. I just got into it cause of a certain DJ called Kid Kenobi (Sydney DJ) and it was just different. A lot slower and nicer than hard trance

But I'm out of the clubb'n scene... I'm taking a break from it all, so I don't keep up with the music anymore

but to answer your question, probably nu skool ( though I'm not too sure

Why do you hate jazz? There are thousands kinds of jazz, I'm sure you would find something interesting for you... check out acid jazz, for example. Though it's not really a jazz subgenre, it's more of electronic music.

Only some people are into old skool breakbeat. I'm into both. Old skool breakbeat = early Prodigy, Dance Conspiracy, Nu-Matic, House Crew/Baby D, Liquid, SL2, Project One, Sonz of a Loop da Loop Era, Acen, Hyper on Experience. If these don't ring a bell then you are into nu skool.
